The majority of Sri Lankan students in Bangladesh are in the discipline of medicine. The deadline for receipt of applications for the current academic session 2015-16 passed in November 2015. In fact, the results of the application for government and private medical & dental colleges for the academic session 2015-2016 has already been published.
However, the information for application procedure for the last year (which may or may not change for the coming academic session) is being retained at this web site as a guideline for the potential Sri Lankan applicants for medicine studies in Bangladesh in the next academic session in the following paragraphs:
The Ministry of Health and Family Affair of Bangladesh is calling applications from foreign students for admission in the government and private medical & dental colleges in Bangladesh for the academic session 2015-2016 under the self-finance scheme.
The Ministry of Health and Family Affair of Bangladesh has offered 13 (thirteen) seats for MBBS course and 02 (two) seats for BDS course in the government medical and dental colleges respectively to Sri Lankan students under SAARC quota in the mentioned session. The Ministry of Health and Family Affair will also consider applications from the Sri Lankan students for admission in private medical & dental colleges in Bangladesh for the same Session.
Applications for admission into the government medical & dental colleges should reach this High Commission on or before 05 November 2015 and those for admission in private medical & dental colleges should reach this High Commission on or before 20 November 2015. It may be mentioned here that each candidate needs to submit 03(three) sets of duly filled-in application forms along with necessary documents. The prescribed application form, criteria for admission and lists of medical and dental colleges are attached herewith.
All applications received by this High Commission will be forwarded to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of Bangladesh. The Ministry of Health and Family Affair of Bangladesh will be the decisive authority to select the applicants for admission. Successful candidates will be notified in due course.
