Int’l Conference on Buddhist Tourism Circuit

Bangladesh is going to host the “Internal Conference on Developing Sustainable and Inclusive Buddhist Heritage and Pilgrimage Circuits in South Asia’s Buddhist Heartland” hosted by Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism of Bangladesh with the support of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in Dhaka from 27-28 October 2015.

The Forum aims to bring together representatives of UNWTO Member States, both in Asia and across the globe. This event will be a forum for government policy-makers, tourism authorities,

experts, industry actors, civil society, NGOS, community-based organizations, faith-based entities, academic-research-professional institutions/bodies, development partners, relevant UN agencies/organizations and mass media to discuss and review the current situation, opportunities and challenges in regard to the development and promotion of Buddhist tourism; discuss the key issues and barriers that need to be addressed to develop and market sustainable and inclusive Buddhist tourism circuits; and consider a roadmap for the sustainable and inclusive development of Buddhist tourism in Asian countries.
