Bangladesh has improved its ranking in Global Competitiveness Index (GCI) this year. It has scaled upward by eight positions to 110 from the previous year`s 118, among 148 countries. This is, no doubt, an impressive performance for the country. Financial market development, technological readiness, market size, business sophistication and innovation were considered, while preparing the competitiveness index. According to the Global Competitiveness Report 2013-14 of the World Economic Forum(WEF) public and private investment in the energy and power sector, an initiatives in monetary management have shown an improvement in Bangladesh.
